The Wessst

The West (also known as the W-essst) is a minor location in the series, The Marvelous Misadventures of FlapjackIt is a deadly and superstitious locale just to the west (hence the name) of Stormalong Harbor. It is inhabited by burning ghost ships, monsters of all kinds, the infamous Westman, and the Edge of the World.

Background[]

It was featured in the episode How the West was Fun.

In Stormalong Harbor, it is so despised by the citizens that all compasses on the island lack a W so that no one can endanger themselves by traveling there.

Trivia[]

  • If one says "west" four times in the area, a giant Sloane Viperfish will appear.
  • Flapjack and K'nuckles sailed to the West because Flapjack believed that Candied Island lurked in its boundaries.
  • The West cannot be pinned down as one location, because if one sails west from Stormalong, they'll enter the West soon enough.

Residents[]

The Residents of the Wessst

Notable residents include:

  • A playful, chubby serpent with a head shaped like a shield. He was later shown playing in a bathtub.
  • A large, sea turtle-riding Asian genie who offers French fries to all he meets.
  • Two friendly large-sized mermaids, the female's name being Martha, while the male's being unknown.
  • An over-sized Sloane Viperfish that will devour anything nearby, but only after the word West is spoken four times.

Trivia[]

SloanViperFish

The Sloane Viperfish devouring the other residents

  • Ironically, all of the creatures of the Wessst (except the Westman and the Sloane Viperfish) seem to be extremely kind creatures. One was seen offering a starving K'nuckles and Flapjack some food (more specifically, a French fry), though they turned it down.
  • The seawater in The Wessst seems to be a severe Hallucinogen. After Flapjack and K'nuckles drank it, they started seeing strange images which became more awkward as it went. It started with Candied Island, then Candied Island fell into the ocean, the sail on their raft turned into the Westman, then the face Flapjack drew on his foot started to talk, then Flapjack and K'nuckles ended up in a giant bathtub, and then the chubby serpent was in the bathtub and unintentionally knocked them to their deaths. Suddenly, they woke up. Seawater in the real world causes dehydration, though.
