Ponce De Leroy is a one-time character in the series, who only appearence was in "Highlandlubber". He is an escapee from the Stormalong Insane Asylum, who believes himself to be immortal, and think he's a great adventurer.
Background[]
In "Highlandlubber", he went to the Candy Barrel, seeking an assistant adventurer to journey with him, where he chose K'nuckles, claiming the mole on his face to be "the mark of eternal life", and further explains to K'nuckles that he'll never get old or die. K'nuckles then runs off to set sail with Ponce leaving behind Flap at the Candy Barrel, where he later snuck onto Ponce's ship.
Later, Ponce's ship approaches a large abyss, causing the entire ship to be destroyed. In the wreckage, Flapjack finds Ponce's pairs of pantaloons, where it is revealed that they belonged to the Stormalong Insane Asylum, and that Ponce escaped from there to seek adventure believing he's immortal. Upon discovering this, Flapjack goes over to "Adventure Mountain" (an active Volcano that Ponce planned on jumping in with K'nuckles) to show him the truth and rescue K'nuckles.
As K'nuckles is about to jump after being pressured by Ponce to do it, Flapjack comes to the scene and rescues him, revealing his immortality mark to really be butterscotch that stuck onto his face. Before this, Ponce jumps into the volcano and supposedly dies.
Trivia[]
- On his pair of pantaloons, his name is spelled as "Ponce De-Leeroy", despite the end credits billing him as "Ponce De Leroy".
- At the end of "Highlandlubber", it's implied that Ponce didn't actually die in the volcano, and that he actually was immortal, shouting "CAN YOU FEEL IT!?" once again from inside.
- Ponce De Leroy apparently it is a parody of ponce de leon, including the story of both very similar since both are spanish explorers who seek eternal life and immortality.
