Several Leagues Under the Sea is the first episode of the series. Flapjack brags about Bubbie being the fastest thing in the world (or, consequently, Stormalong).

Plot
Flapjack brags so much that Bubbie is the fastest that he accidentally gets her into a race with an inventor who uses boys to power his invention. He fires them all at monsters. Flapjack, feeling guilty, goes back to save them, and Bubbie goes as fast as she can to the finish line. In the end, Bubbie, Flapjack and K'nuckles win the race! Flap learns his lesson about bragging and the episode ends with a robotic version with Captain K'nuckles appearing.
Trivia
- This episode is primarily based on the 1869 book by Jules Verne "20000 Leagues Under the Sea" in which the characters travel all around the sea in a submarine called the "Nautilus" driven by Captain Nemo (which is the reference made about the submerging whale machine, the Alpha Whale). The title card, along with most of the episode based the famous 1954 film adaptation of the novel, with the Inventor's voice being inspired by James Mason's portrayal of Captain Nemo.
- Two scenes in this episode were censored for Austarlian viewing:
- The scene when Bubbie was being poked in the eye was censored to eliminate the 'intense' violence, and
- The scene where The Inventor smoked his pipe after telling the children to drip-dry was censored to get rid of the smoking reference.
